5 Tips On Why Spring Clean Up Is So Important

5 Tips On Why Spring Clean Up Is So Important

1. During the winter months, there could have been tree branches and debris that may have fallen in your yard due to snow and Ice. This may have caused damage to your yard. Make sure you have all fallen trees, tree stumps, tree branches and debris removed from your yard. This helps keep your yard free of debris when mowing and caring for your lawn in the spring and summer months.

2. The winter months can be tough on a lawn, you may need lawn aeration -Check your lawn for wet areas, all wet areas should be raked and cleared of debris. Lawn aeration will help the grass stay healthy after being in overly wet conditions

3. Make sure you are installing the proper grass seed mix -Choosing the right grass seed is important because these mixtures are not one-size-fits-all. You want to get a grass seed that fits your specific lawn needs.

4. Prune any broken branches or trees- If you have any damaged or dead branches they should be removed as soon as possible. Insects are attracted to dead branches and once they establish there they can spread into healthy wood. The best time to prune is in late winter, early spring, just before the tree begins to open its buds.

5. Have your lawn fertilized properly - Fertilizer can help your lawn stay healthy and encourage leaf and root growth and reduce weeds. It can also help your lawn get nutrients it needs after recovering from the winter season.

I hope these were some helpful tips! It may sound like a lot. But caring for your lawn doesn't have to be if you have the right landscaping company!
